Peep Show was painted around Easter, when those little marshmallow peeps were everywhere! I was always amazed by how many bulbs were packed into these signs—they felt like entire populations, each sign its own little country. Painting lightbulbs was quite challenging. Tubes and bulbs were often used together, and in this piece, you can see a tube running along in front of the enamel-painted yellow lights.
