Sometimes less is more. I felt that I captured the swollen rushing river by not overdrawing it and had the wits about me to stop before it became too busy. You can always begin another painting or drawing. Subtracting is harder to do on black paper. I highly recommend reversing the traditional method of dark on light....you will enjoy and learn from it.
