I began this work as a landscape that I was unable to return to. After sometime living in my studio undeveloped I got this beautiful vase and gorgeous heliconia flower. It immediately became obvious to me how I needed to finish the painting.

Painting flowers is one thing, but also painting the jungle, and in acrylic, which is a new medium for me was a lot of fun. This is where I live, this is what I see, so this is what I paint.
