I would come down from my lake cabin in Santa Caterina to the Galeria and home of Tomas and Sabine. The were the creative center of Panajachel and remain so today. Tomas had such a wide and varied collection of Guatemalan masks and antiquities…the works were so genuine and fascinating that I would sit and paint them for weeks at a time. Every painting was done from the composition that I found it in. It was really a treasure for the collector and for the eye.
