Balam Ya was a multi-terraced oasis on the shores of Lago Atitlan. It was another one of the creations of my friend Laurel who also is the creative genius behind Mesón Panza Verde in Antigua.
These are some of the stairs ascending up from the lake to one of many peaceful resting spots.
This beautiful compound has been sold and Laurel has moved on to other creative adventures.
